Ucluelet – Monday & Tuesday recap

Hello friends and family from the United States!

We made it safely to Canada and have had a blast sharing the love of God to children and the community! Yesterday we arrived at church at 3:30 am, and God woke us up to pack the cars and leave for the airport. Our two hour plane flight to Seattle was rather interesting because several asked us where we were from and what we were doing. Our team of 50 packed the vans at the airport and started our trek up Washington to the Canadian border. However, the journey did not end there! We drove  to the dock and literally ran to catch the two hour ferry.  After getting off the boat, we drove for two more hours before stopping for a bite to eat prior to driving the final two hour leg of the adventure to Ucluelet. We made it after 16 hours of traveling!  We definitely had tired bodies, but we still had enough energy to worship God!

On Tuesday, we woke up in the morning to prepare for the kids coming to our sports camp. Not knowing how many were going to show up, we ended up with 15 kids! Soccer, basketball, and gymnastics were the sports offered from 9:00 am-Noon. The camp went well and the lesson of the day was discipline. After the camp, we started doing labor on a house, church, and the school across the street. The church is now prepped for painting which will be done tomorrow. Some people worked on a roof which is not yet finished, but will look great with everyone’s effort! After doing a ton of work, we had a great spaghetti dinner and went on a breathtaking calendar picture hike. We are all doing well, ready for a fun filled day tomorrow!  We appreciate your prayers back at home!
