Today we woke up expecting a great day at sports camp and with our projects. We even got a few more new kids today at the camp along with a little rain fall. The rain did not do too much damage to the paint job, however we had to stop a bit early before the rain increased. We also had a team working most of the day on the roofing job and they were able to finish the back portion of the roof and most of the front. The sports camp lesson today was teamwork and the kids sung worship songs related to the theme. Ana Hebbard got to share the gospel with the kids and did a great job.
The highlight of the day was a mandatory nap time, by Shawn because of the rain. It was wonderful! After our hour nap time we went to Forest Glen, a retirement home. We pulled weeds and spread mulch for an hour and a half, then got a chance to walk down to the beach. We saw a bear at the beach, so we had to leave. We came back to the church to shower and eat dinner before our guests arrived.
Our guests, Bob and Vi, were from the Ucluelet tribe; they were a nice elderly couple with a great testimony to share and allowed us to ask questions. We enjoyed listening to their stories about growing up on the reservation and how God has worked in their community. Everyone had a chance to meet the couple personally, thanking them for their time, and asking more questions.
Please pray that the weather tomorrow allows us to finish the roofing and painting. We received a personal letter from one of the little boys attending the sports camp. We thought it was very touching, so we decided to share it with you:
